Amsterdam

The travel film “Amsterdam” by Rick Steves' Europe is useful for trip-planning because Amsterdam is a walkable historic city with old streets, architecture, art and café culture close enough to shape the order of a day. Treat that scale as the film’s planning value, not as a checklist of sights. Before fixing an itinerary, use the city’s profile to test pacing: art time, café pauses and food stops can sit within short walks, while the historic core rewards sequencing by neighbourhood rather than by scattered markers. Amsterdam is not a resort brief; it asks for footwear, pauses and restraint.
