Budapest

A Rick Steves' Europe travel film on Budapest helps trip-planning, and "Budapest: The Best of Hungary" is best used as orientation rather than a checklist. The city’s architecture, landmark-dense centre, thermal-bath culture and serious food scene make that format valuable before you set priorities. Use the viewing to decide your rhythm: Buda’s slopes and castle quarter reward slower walking, while Pest’s boulevards, cafés and routes along the Danube help structure days without overloading them. For a short stay, pair one architectural area with a bath or meal plan; Budapest works best when the itinerary leaves room between set pieces.
